Anise Myrtle leaves have a sweet herbal anise or liquorice flavour.
Oz Tukka’s Anise Myrtle is a great flavouring in desserts and biscuits and is often used with fish, pork, vegetables, glazes, marinades and dressings.
Aniseed Myrtle is also great to help balance flavours by adding a little touch of sweetness.
Oz Tukka’s Anise Myrtle leaves make a delicious and refreshing tea. Simply add freshly boiled water into a tea pot and add a teaspoon of leaves or pop the myrtle leaves straight into a tea strainer and brew in your cup with freshly boiled water.
In the wild, the trees are found in the sub-tropical rainforests of northern New South Wales. Oz Tukka’s Anise Myrtle is sustainably farmed in northern NSW.
Traditionally Aboriginal people used it medicinally as a tonic.
