Description
Curry Myrtle leaves have a sweet curry smell when crushed, with eucalyptus and aniseed overtones.
Backhousia angustifolia or narrow leaved Backhousia spice is available in ground dried leaf and is great for meat rubs, spices and savoury dishes.
It is also incredibly delicious in laksa, curries and breads.
Curry Myrtle is a shrub to 5m, naturally found along streams in scrubs of SE Queensland. Grows dense to the ground and had small white flowers.
A wonderful addition to the home or school garden!
