Ponder and Plant

Bushfood Gardens for Kids

A bush food garden at your early learning centre/school is a beautiful way to embed Indigenous perspectives and have native ingredients on hand for cooking & craft.
Linda can visit your centre, choose 6 suitable bushfood plants, discuss these with the children and then do a planting in your prepared garden beds.

Plants: Tubestock plants will be chosen from a mixture of sun or shade loving plants that Linda will bring with her. Information sheets are also provided.

Discussion: Linda will chat with the children, & educators, about planting & growing, the plants uses for cooking, doing craft & medicine uses.

Planting: Garden beds need to be prepared & weeded ready for planting. Some sugarcane mulch should be added after planting.
