Another one of our favourites! Oz Tukka’s Muntries taste like apple with a juniper essence…a spicy apple taste.
Muntries are wonderful in desserts, salads and on yoghurt. Decorate desserts or cakes with these gorgeous little fruits! Delicious just to snack on there own.
Kunzea pomifera have been a highly valued fruit by the Aboriginal population in Victoria and South Australia; surplus fruit was collected and dried or baked into cakes for the winter. Aboriginal names include Munthari, Munta, Mantirri and Mantari.
Muntries are also known as munterberries.
The berries were a welcome food source for early settlers, who used them in cakes, jams and chutneys.
Muntries have high levels of antioxidants and vitamin C.
