Bush Food Garden

Would You Like a Bushfood Garden in your Centre or School?

Growing a bushfood garden will show children, and adults, a growing appreciation for Australian native edible plants, also raising awareness about Aboriginal culture.
The bushfood garden should feature some plants native to your area, incorporating traditional Aboriginal food and medicine plants, aromatic/sensory plants, beneficial insect attracting plants and plants with the ability to add to your cooking and craft.

We stock a large range of bushfood tubestock plants as well!

A visit from us

Oz Tukka can visit your centre/school to advise on positioning of Australian native edible plant varieties into your existing garden beds.
We stock a large range of bushfood tubestock plants as well!
A visit can be just for the gardens or coincide with our ‘Introduction to Bushfoods-Talk & Taste’ education session.
Let us know if you would like the Talk & Taste session, Bushfood Garden visit or Ponder & Plant session held in succession. You will receive a discounted price!

The Nitty Gritty

A 1 hour onsite visit includes a 6 pack of bushfood plants, plant information sheets, gst & travel within the council areas of Lake Macquarie & Newcastle.
A walk around & discussion is done with a staff member. The staff member is to note down the plant placements for future planting.
Planting can be done with the children by the centre/school staff or with Linda the same day (at an additional cost).
Extra plants (tubestock) are available singularly or in a 6 pack. They come with information sheets.
