The Australian Outback Lime is a selection of different native desert lime, Citrus glauca, producing small, green, juicy fruits which ripen at Christmas time.
Superb in sauces, spice mixes, seafood, cakes/desserts and cocktails.
Characterised by its upright habit, relatively large, flavoursome fruit, high yield, uniform ripening time, lack of thorns, and suitability for mechanical harvesting.
The Australian Outback Lime was cultivated at the Merbein, Victoria site of CSIRO Plant Industry by Dr Steve Sykes.
