Illawarra Plum or Plum Pine is endemic to Eastern NSW and Queensland.
The fruit is the size of a grape with a jelly like consistency that has a sweet, mild pine flavour, which is enhanced when cooking.
The fruit is made up of two joined segments-The small, hard inedible seed and the fruit, which easily twist apart.
Fantastic for jams, sauces, marinades and cakes, muffins, cheesecakes and fruit compotes. Add to your gin or vodka!
